What is Mempool?
The memory pool where unconfirmed blockchain transactions wait before being mined into a block.
Detailed Definition & Context
Each full node runs an in-memory queue of validated transactions that have not yet been included in a block. Miners select transactions from their mempool prioritizing those with the highest fee rate (sat/vB or Gwei).
Practical Example
During periods of high traffic, transactions with fees below the current mempool threshold remain pending until demand subsides.
